Design Consultation

This starting point provides Good Work the opportunity to meet our clients, get a feel for of who they are, and gain an understanding of their needs and requirements for the design. The consultation also provides Good Work with an opportunity for an initial site visit, which is key to understanding the site and sense of place.

    • Attend client briefing meeting on site.

    • Prepare an initial precedent reference document and consolidated project brief.

    • Deliver and present the initial materials to the client.

Landscape Concept

Following the development of a project brief, the second phase of design begins with another site visit for Good Work to conduct a detailed site analysis. Following an understanding of the constraints and opportunities of the site, we then move directly into concept design. The presentation of the concept package to the client and a final round of amendments marks the completion of this stage.

    • Existing Conditions and site analysis plan.

    • 1x Landscape Concept Plan of the site, and detailed plans of specific areas as required.

    • Sections and elevation drawings as required.

    • Indicative Planting Palette

    • Indicative Materials Palette

    • 1x concept presentation meeting

    • 1x round of amendments following the concept presentation.

Construction Documentation

Following the finalisation of the landscape concept, Good Work will develop the design to a resolved level to enable construction. Good Work will prepare a detailed finishes plan and materials schedule. Good Work will also prepare a detailed planting plan and schedule with total plant quantities. The provision of other relevant plans is accounted for during this stage including vegetation retention/removal plan, set out and grading.

    • 1x Setout, Levels and Grading Plan.

    • 1x Hard landscaping plan

    • 1x Soft Landscaping & Planting Plan

    • 1x Design Development Meeting (75%)

    • 1 x Set of amendments to the design to be signed off by the client

Tender

Upon the completion of the documentation drawings, the project moves into the tender phase. During this phase, Good Work will engage a number of qualified landscape contractors to provide a price to undertake the works. Good Work will manage the tender, respond to clarifications during the process and undertake a tender analysis. Upon conclusion, Good Work will provide a recommendation for who should undertake the works to the client.

Construction Management

Once a contractor has been selected, it’s time to build your garden. Good Work can oversea the construction of the project, and administer the contract to ensure the landscape is realised in the manner it was designed. Overseeing the construction of the project in this way also means the Good Work can be involved in any of minor changes that are required during the construction process, ensuring the best outcome is achieved.

    • Issue landscape drawings for construction

    • Attend kick-off meeting with construction team

    • Attend site meetings with landscape contractor as required.

Maintenance Advice

Upon the completion of construction and installation, Good Work can provide broad maintenance advice or a detailed maintenance plan to ensure your garden reaches it’s full potential.
